Habendum - A provision in a deed, which defines
the extent of the ownership to be granted to and enjoyed by the
grantee.
Heirs - The persons designated by statute to
receive an estate where there is no will.
Hereditaments - Any property which can be
inherited.
Highest and Best Use - The use of a property,
which will yield the greatest return on the property.
Homestead - Any real estate where the owner
resides and which is exempt from creditor's claims to an amount
specified by state law.

Hypothecate - To give something as security
without giving up its possession.
